Endpoint, Technical Support, and End-User Computing Committee

Charge & Purpose

The Endpoint, Technical Support, and End-User Computing Sub-Committee shall advise the Technology Governance Committee on issues affecting computer workstations and end-user computing, promote consistent end-user computing experiences, consistent application of policies and best practices. 

 The workstation standards committee advises the Technology Governance Committee on issues affecting computer workstations and end-user computing.   

The objectives of workstation standards are to: 

  • Make recommendations to campus IT governance groups on projects affecting computer workstations and end-user computing. 
  • Organize the efforts of IT groups across campus to ensure consistent application of technology tools, consistent work practices, and alignment with campus and CSU policies affecting end-user computing.   
  • Collect and organize feedback from campus IT service providers in all areas of campus. 
  • Set hardware and software standard to ensure uniformity across campus IT groups. 
  • Communicate urgent or emergent technology issues to campus leadership through the IT governance process. 
  • Disseminate changes in Chancellor’s Office or campus IT policies. 
  • Establishes common practices across campus IT groups to create a more uniform end user experience and ensure CO and Campus policy compliance. 

Membership

The committee is sponsored by the IT Governance Committee.  Membership is comprised of staff from Academic Technology, Information Technology Services, and any unit that has primary responsibility for end-user computing within a campus unit.

Meetings

  • Meeting frequency – 2nd Friday of each month and as required. 
  • The Committee will determine modifications to the meeting schedule as needed based on current activities.    
  • Time Commitment – In addition to the scheduled meetings, members can expect to spend 2 hours between meetings reviewing related material.  
  • Meeting structure – The co-chairs will collect agenda items prior to the meeting and circulate agendas in advance of each meeting to ensure informed discussion of scheduled topics.  
  • Reporting – The co-chairs will report on decisions.  
  • Documentation of proceedings – All meetings will have notes of discussions, recommendations, and action items.  
  • Voting – The committee does not vote except by acclamation.  
  • Sub‐Committees/Working Groups   
  • Ad hoc sub‐committees or working groups may be established to work on specific projects or topics as needed.

Policy Responsibilities

The Endpoint, Technical Support, and End-User Computing committee will review, and provide feedback, on policies, standards, and procedures pertaining to computer workstations.
